Raj Subramaniam, an Indian American has been named the President and CEO of delivery giant FedEx as the company’s founder and CEO, Frederick Smith will step down from this position on June 1. Smith who had founded FedEx in 1971 will now be its Executive Chairman. FedEx has 600,000 employees globally.
Smith in an official statement said that, “As we look toward what’s next, I have a great sense of satisfaction that a leader of the caliber of Raj Subramaniam will take FedEx into a very successful future.”
Prior to his elevation, he held the position of Chief Operating Officer of FedEx Corp for a period of 3 years. He was elected to the FedEx Board of Directors in 2020. An alumnus of The University of Texas, Subramaniam joined FedEx in 1991has held various management roles namely Senior Vice President, Regional President, Canada, Vice President- Marketing- Asia Pacific.
