Mumbai: According the Indian Readership Survey 2017 the Magazines Total Readership has increased by 75% that has translated in to an surge of 3.8 crore copies as per the respective periodicity basis.
The report has revealed that India Today (English) leads the most read magazines across India with 7992total readership (000s) and its Hindi version stands as the second most read magazine with 7159 (000s) total readership (TR) while Samanya Gyan Darpan is the third most highly read magazine with 6882 TR (000s) in the respective periodicity basis.

Out of the few regional magazines seen in the top 20 magazines list, the Malayalam magazine Vanitha is the 4th most read magazines with TR of 6126 (000s). The Hindi Magazine PratiyogitaDarpan stands in the 5th place with 5924 TR (000s), followed by MeriSaheli and SarasSalil Hindu Magazines occupy the 6th and 7th positions with 4623 (000s) TR and 4318 (000s) TR respectively.
BalBhaskar is seen in the 8th place with 3598 (000s) TR closely competing with the English magazine General Knowledge Today in the 9th place with 3493 (000s) TR. The Champak is placed at the 10th place with 3336 (000s) total readership in respective periodicity.
Unlike the first 10 magazines in the list, the second 10 magazines are seen competing with each other with very close TR.
Sarita Hindi magazine and The Sportstar English magazine occupy the 11th and the 12th positions with a mere difference of just 21 readership, giving a tough competition of the other Hindi sports magazines Cricket Samrat and Diamond Cricket Today in the 13th and 14th places with 2920 (000s) and 2809 (000s) readership. GrihShobha’s Hindi version occupies the 15th place with 2759 (000s) total readership. The Tamil magazine AnandaVikatan with 2708 (000s) TR stands in the 16th place.
Diamond Cricket Today’s English version and Grehlakshmi’s Hindi version are placed in the 17th and 18th places with 2549 (000s) and 2469 (000s) TR.
Jagran Josh Plus and Filmfare (Fortnightly)has managed to take the last two places in the top 20 magazines’ list with a feeble difference of just 90 readership.
