New Delhi: The India Today Group-Axis-My-India’s exit poll has come out as the most accurate prediction of the country’s general elections, beating all other polls on the outcome of the massive exercise.
On May 23, the BJP-led NDA led in 350 seats followed by the UPA in 92 seats and others in 100 seats till 8 pm.
The India Today Group-Axis-My-India exit poll on May 19 had predicted 339-365 seats for the NDA, 77-108 seats for the UPA and 69-95 seats for others.
The actual results testify to the sterling research that went into the India Today-Axis-My-India exit poll.
Other media groups, however, were way behind in their voter surveys, which led to a mismatch between their predictions and the actual results.

The India Today-Axis-My-India exit poll could not have been possible without the collaborative efforts of various teams that reached on-ground across the length & breadth of the country to get the survey right.
Speaking about this incredible accomplishment, Kalli Purie, Vice Chairperson of the India Today Group, said, “We worked very closely with our polling agency. Our real pulse of the ground and our constant weekly tracker ‘The Political Stock Exchange’ ensured our numbers were backed by strong ground data and experience. We still spent a few sleepless nights till the final results came.”
