Noida: India News, known for its direct and unbiased brand of journalism, hosted the Arogyam Conclave and Awards at Hotel Ashok, New Delhi on Thursday, July 19, 2018. The conclave highlighted the role of traditional Indian systems of medicine and other streams that got assimilated into the Indian culture.
Some of these practices and ancient Indian sciences are over 5,000 years old and even today, continue to provide healthcare to large section of the population in India and other developing countries. Most of these systems of medicine emphasize on the overall well-being of patients through a unique blend of meditation, health, and natural medicine. For instance, Yoga and Ayurveda are interrelated branches of the same tree of Vedic knowledge and can be used together for optimum benefit.
Celebrated on the heels of the International Day of Yoga, the Arogyam Conclave sought to bring the focus back on the role of the traditional or complementary alternative medical systems, including Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Homeopathy, Siddha and Naturopathy, and understand the way these systems function while also highlighting the way these ancient practices have evolved over the years.
Shripad Naik, the Minister of State for AYUSH (I/C), was the chief guest at the elaborate event that was attended by some of the best known professionals in the medical and healthcare sector, members of the media, industry representatives, and esteemed members of the civil society. Some of the main highlights of the event were discussions on the role of Yoga in bringing positive lifestyle changes, the ancient Indian practices and their relevance in today’s world and finally, a probe into what wellness actually entails.
The event culminated in the AROGYAM awards that brought the spotlight on high-calibre individuals who have created extraordinary success stories by promoting these age-old practices and ensuring people from around the world can benefit from them.
