Bengaluru: India is emerging as a global leader in artificial intelligence (AI) education, with over 50% of its population actively self-educating in AI-related skills, according to Bosch’s fourth annual Tech Compass Survey. The report highlights India’s readiness to embrace AI in work, education, and daily life, positioning the nation as a frontrunner in the AI revolution.
With 57% of Indians receiving employer-provided AI training, the country surpasses Germany and other European nations in workplace AI education. “Artificial intelligence is transforming the way we work. This year’s report emphasizes the accelerating need for AI skills at the workplace and how we can harness it for greater productivity and success. At Bosch, we recognize the opportunities AI offers and are integrating it responsibly, thereby staying committed to fostering AI literacy and deployment,” said Guruprasad Mudlapur, President of the Bosch Group in India and Managing Director, Bosch Limited.
AI in Education: A Growing Priority
Globally, 63% of respondents believe AI should become a standalone subject in schools. In India, this sentiment is echoed strongly, with many schools and universities already equipping students with foundational AI skills. Additionally, 60% of Indians expect the government to spearhead AI education initiatives, reflecting a nationwide commitment to cultivating a tech-savvy generation ready for a future driven by AI.
Optimism and Ethical Considerations
India’s optimism about AI adoption remains robust, with 84% of respondents believing technological progress will make the world a better place. AI is also viewed as the most influential technology of the next decade by 63% of Indians, with many seeing its potential to address environmental challenges and foster sustainable development.
However, concerns persist, including job displacement, risks of plagiarism, and potential social inequality. Notably, 86% of Indian respondents emphasized the importance of binding codes of conduct to ensure ethical AI usage in corporations, highlighting the need for responsible deployment.
AI: Beyond Boundaries

68% believe AI could one day win a Nobel Prize.
76% think AI-controlled humanoid robots could break world records in the Olympics.

The Bosch Tech Compass Survey 2025 was conducted across Brazil, China, France, Germany, India, the United Kingdom, and the United States. It explores global perspectives on emerging technologies, examining people’s attitudes, expectations, concerns, and beliefs about the transformative role of AI.
