Mumbai: Indexed Ad Volumes/channels on Television dropped by 3% in Jan-Jun’24 over Jan-Jun’23. Food and Beverage Sector topped with 24% during January-June 2024. The TAM AdEx-Television Advertising Half-Yearly Report for January- June 2024 has been published.
– Toilet soaps led the categories during H1, 2024; Rubs And Balms was the new entrant among the Top 10.
– Five out of Top 10 brands were from Reckitt Benckiser and two brands from HUL during January-June 2024.
– During January-June 2024, GEC outperformed news channels as the leading genre for advertising, similar to the same period in 2023.
– The Top 5 channels genres accounted for more than 90% share of TV Ad Volumes during both January-June 2023 and January-June 2024.
– Milk beverages was the top grown category in terms of ad volumes in January-June 2024 over the same period in 2023.
‘Food and Beverages’-The Leading Sector with 24% share of Ad Volumes
– In January-June 2024, ‘Food and Beverage’ (24%) was on top followed by ‘Personal Care/Personal Hygiene’ sector with 16% share.
– ‘BFSI’ is the only new entered sector in top 10 list during January-June 2024.
– The Top 10 sectors contribute nearly 90% of the ad volume share in January-June 2024.
‘Toilet Soaps’ led the categories during H1, 2024
The Top 10 categories together added 32% share of ad volumes in Jan-Jun’24.
– In the period from Jan-Jun’24, the categories ranked 3rd, 7th, 8th, and 9th showed a positive shift in rank compared to the same period in 2023.
– ‘Rubs And Balms’ was the new entrant among the Top 10 categories during Jan-Jun’24.
– Categories on Rank 3, 7 and 10 were from ‘Food and Beverages’ sector.
Top Growing Categories : 160+ Categories registered Positive Growth
‘Milk Beverages’ category saw highest increase in Ad secondages with growth of 24% followed by ‘Rubs And Balms’ with 40% growth during Jan-Jun’24 compared to January-June 2023.
Leading Advertisers: FMCG Players dominated the top 10 list
– ‘HUL’ topped the list followed by ‘Reckitt’ during January-June 2024.
– The Top 10 advertisers together added 45% share of Ad Volumes during January-June 2024.
– ‘Reliance Jio Infocomm’ observed positive rank shift along with ITC and Wipro.
‘Harpic Power Plus 10x Advanced’ was the top brand on TV during January-June 2024
– During Jan-Jun’24, total 7.8K+ brands were present on Television.
– Five out of the Top 10 brands were from ‘Reckitt Benckiser’ and 2 were from ‘HUL’.
Top Five Channel Genres January-June 2024 : GEC and News had 57% of Ad Volumes
– During January-June 2024, ‘GEC’ outperformed ‘News’ channels as the leading genre for advertising, similar to same period in 2023.
