The Direct-to-Home (DTH) service provider in India, Dish TV, said on Thursday that the Information & Broadcasting Ministry had renewed their DTH license for a period of 20 years. The renewal is subjected to fulfilment of the various demands, according to the revised guidelines for the Direct-to-Home sector.
Dish TV, in a BSE filing, stated that it has received “the in-principle approval of the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting for the grant of provisional license with effect from April 1, 2021”, for 20 years for providing DTH services in the country.
Dish TV will have to enter into an agreement with the Information & Broadcasting Ministry. They need to acquire and provide required clearances and the bank guarantee according to the revised DTH guidelines notified by the government.
