New Delhi: Media Research Users Council (MRUC), the body that oversees the Indian Readership Survey, on Thursday appointed I. Venkat, director of Ushodaya Enterprises, the publisher of the largest selling Telugu daily Eenadu, as its chairman for a period of two years.
Venkat succeeded C.V.L Srinivas, chief executive South Asia of GroupM, a media buying agency part of WPP Inc.
Other appointments at MRUC’s annual general meeting which concluded on 25th September included Sanjay Tripathi, senior vice-president of HDFC Life as vice chairman, MRUC, N.P. Sathyamurthy, executive director, DDB Mudra Group as chairman, technical committee at MRUC, and Nikhil Rangnekar, chief executive at Spatial Access as chairman, marketing committee.
Radhesh Uchil is set to become the next chief executive at MRUC.
Uchil takes over from Shaswati Saradar, former chief executive at MRUC, as she has decided to move on. She served the council for nearly five years.
Before MRUC, Uchil was general manager at Platinum Media.
Both Srinivas and Paritosh Joshi are board members of MRUC and will continue to mentor the council.
MRUC is a registered not-for-profit body of members representing major advertisers, agencies, publishers and broadcasters/other media.
