Mumbai: HT Media Ltd’s Executive Director Sharad Saxena passed away on Monday after a brief battle against Cancer. He oversaw the Human Resources, Production, and Supply Chain functions at HT, and was a core member of the company’s senior leadership team.
Saxena played an important role in communicating HT’s value systems to thousands of employees, conducting a series of values workshops. He graduated in Mechanical Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, and was an avid badminton and tennis player.
Saxena was 59 and worked at HT for 15 years, joining in 2005. Prior to joining HTML he was holding key leadership roles in Escorts, Eicher, Pepsico and Perfetti. He oversaw the Human Resources, Production, and Supply Chain functions at HT, and was a core member of the company’s senior leadership team.
He also actively involved in the digitization of the HT Newsroom, from helping shortlist and pick a vendor for the Content Management System to overseeing the actual physical transformation of the newsroom.
He had over 25 years of rich, diverse and successful leadership experience spanning Research & Development, Operations, Supply Chain and Human Resources spread over different industry verticles – Railways, Automobiles, Food & Beverages and Media.
