Mumbai: HT Media has appointed Sameer Singh, former Head of North America Global Business Solutions at TikTok/ByteDance, as its new Group CEO. Singh will succeed Praveen Someshwar, who is stepping down as Managing Director and CEO effective February 28, 2025, according to the company’s regulatory filing.
Singh brings over 30 years of experience in digital platforms, brand innovation, and media leadership, having worked with leading global organizations such as TikTok, GroupM, Google, GSK, Procter & Gamble, and IPG.
In his most recent role at TikTok, Singh led advertising and sales teams across North America, driving advertising revenue and spearheading global business solutions. He has also previously served as CEO of GroupM India and South Asia, where he championed digital transformation and content-driven competitive advantage for clients.
An alumnus of IIM Calcutta, Singh has worked in major cities worldwide, including New York, London, New Delhi, and Palo Alto, contributing to his deep expertise in navigating diverse markets. At Google, Singh played a pivotal role in shaping digital strategy for large global clients and agency partnerships.
