Chennai : According to the Audit Bureau of Circulations figures released for the period of July-December 2015, The Hindu witnessed 20.3 % increase in its circulation and it was the second largest circulated English language daily newspaper. It sold an average of 15,18,082 copies every day during this period against 12,61,658 copies sold in the January-June 2015.
Overall, The Hindu was in the 10{+t}{+h} slot in terms of average circulation during this period.
Dainik Bhaskar (Hindi) occupied the first position with a daily circulation of 38,18,477 in July-December 2015, followed by Dainik Jagran (Hindi) 33,07,517 and Times of India 30,57,678. According to an ABC press release, print circulation of member publications grew 5.04 % CAGR over the last eight years.
This growth was achieved due to new titles entering various markets and existing titles starting new editions or printing centres.
Most member publications, according to the release, have shown a positive increasing trend during this period.
The release said ABC would shortly enter the field of digital measurement with Nielsen.
The digital measurement service would be available for all digital properties within the next few months.
