Thanks to the evolution of technology, and this fabulous endeavor by Schwarzkopf Professional: the cutting-edge German hair care brand, we are, all, able to remain connected and effortlessly so. I was thrilled to be part of this historic day on May 5 2020 @Hairdressers United – a digital hair festival showcased in 19 countries, 13 time zones, and 24 hours. And even more proud that I was part of a Guinness World Record event. It is a Henkel’s initiative towards a charitable cause of Covid-19 affected all over the world in which leading voices of the hair industry across the world come together as one to not only create but also curate solutions, styles and yes, honestly speak about the evolution of the hair industry overall. Hairdressers United was the first ever 24 Hours live streaming/education conducted by various hair artists around the world making its entry into the Guinness Book of World Record. It was a great opportunity for me to be educating and sharing the space with the brightest stars in the mane magnum. On a personal level, I think hair will be a great medium of expression: now more than ever. People will want to speak through their hair, tell stories, and make the world a better place”.
Shama Dalal, Head-Marketing, Schwarzkopf Professional India, said, “Henkel Beauty Care is proud to be bringing together the entire hairdresser community together for a noble initiative. And we are thoroughly excited and honored that our initiative has made it to Guinness World Records. At a globally challenging time like this, we felt there is a need to instill a strong sense of community among the hairdressers and clients that may be missing for some individuals. ‘Hairdressers United’ was a successful first time ever 24hr global live event sharing some great knowledge, insights, and talking about the future of hairdressing. This charity event aimed to raise funds through user engagement and donations during the live stream.”
All in all, the festival was a truly amazing feat; #HairdressersUnited was planned and executed from scratch in less than three weeks with management teams across 3 different time zones – an achievement in itself that has pulled the hairdressing world together during a globally challenging time.
Appreciation from the hairdressing community has been overwhelmingly expressed since the event, with respected industry names sharing their tributes… “it was a privilege to have been part of this amazing event, thank you for putting this together and for such a worthy cause…” said Schwarzkopf Professional Global Ambassador, Lesley Jennison.
Ambassador Tyler Johnston also added, “it was an absolute pleasure to be a part of this incredible project…all for charity and to support people affected by COVID-19, thank you, Henkel.” – just a small example of the feedback received so far.
