Health Ministry to mandate OTT platforms to carry anti-tobacco disclaimer

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare is all set to issue a notification about the inclusion of anti-tobacco warning messages on OTT platforms such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Hotstar similar to movies screened in theatres and TV programs.

Reportedly, the officials had a few rounds of consultation with regard to the issue, and the decision related to bringing the OTT platforms at par with films screened in theatres and by cable or TV broadcasters when it comes to adhering to the anti-tobacco warnings will be taken soon.
