Havas has hired Allanjit Singh from PR agency Golin to perform a dual role in Singapore, head of social for Havas Creative Group and MD of PR brand Havas Siren.
Singh brings with 15 years of experience in comms to the role, with agencies including ad agency Iris, where he was a social strategist, Ogilvy PR, Lewis PR and Fleishman Hillard. At Golin, he was digital director,a role he has performed since 2014.
He comes in six months after the departure of Karen Flynn, the previous boss of Havas Siren, and the founder of the agency. After Flynn left, Anna Chew has been running Siren as GM, and she will remain in that role.
Havas Worldwide Singapore boss Andrea Conyard, to whom Singh will report, said that the new hire is among a “rare breed” who understands PR, social and content, and can work across all three as the disciplines continue to blur.
Singh commented on his appointment: “It’s not often that one gets the chance to drive an agenda powered by the perfect storm of behavioural insights, big data and cutting edge technology. Making sense of it all to inspire authentic conversations in the most relevant channels, and in turn driving the right sorts of actions is where we will see our biggest success, both for our clients and for consumers.”
