GroupM maintains its lead in media investment worldwide, as per COMvergence’s latest 2023 report on global and regional billings rankings and market shares.
In 2023, COMvergence reported that GroupM’s total global billings reached $62.6B, up 3.4% from 2022, capturing 15% of the market and 29% of the share among the leading “Big 6” agency groups.
In COMvergence’s research, the company led in 49% of 47 markets, including key global ones like China, India, Japan, Germany, and the UK, and placed first or second in 77% of them.
COMvergence’s analysis highlighted GroupM’s strong presence in APAC and EMEA. In APAC, GroupM ranked first with $20B in 2023 billings, holding 41% market share and dominating the agency landscape. In EMEA, GroupM had $23.3B in billings, representing 31% market share. The company maintained a #2 ranking in North America and advanced to #3 in LATAM with a 7.6% growth.
In COMvergence’s analysis, GroupM agencies dominated the top 5 global agency networks. EssenceMediacom ranked first with $24.5B, Mindshare third with $20.9B, and Wavemaker fifth with $15.3B in global client billings for 2023. T&Pm, also known as MSix, showed the highest growth rate among large group agencies, with a 13.4% increase in billings.
