“Issues related to anti-piracy will be addressed after consulting with the concerned stakeholders of the industry, ” said Apurva Chandra, Secretary, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting while interacting with the South Indian film representatives through video conferencing on proposed amendments on the Cinematograph Act, 1952.
Chandra said that the Centre will take every step to facilitate the film industry and the government will ensure that industry is cherished and that the Indian film reaches the international markets.
As part of the initiative, the ministry has already merged the film media units under National Film Development Corporation. Matters related to CBFC certificate, screen density issues, permission from Animal Welfare Board and location permission were also discussed during the interaction.
