Mumbai: Godfrey Philips India (GPI), the tobacco manufacturing company, has announced the appointment of Siddharth Chawla as its Chief Operating Officer (COO), as per a filing with the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
Before joining GPI, Chawla served as the Chief Growth Officer at Pharmarack Technologies, where he played a pivotal role in driving growth and innovation.
With a career spanning over 24 years, Chawla brings extensive experience in senior management and cross-functional leadership roles across various sectors. He began his professional journey with FMCG giant ITC Ltd. in 2001 as a management trainee and rose to become the Business Head – North India, a position he held until 2019.
Following his tenure at ITC, Chawla joined the e-commerce unicorn Udaan as the Business Head of Non-Essentials, where he spent three years overseeing critical operations in a highly competitive market.
In his previous roles, Chawla has demonstrated expertise in:
- Developing go-to-market strategies
- Establishing robust business systems and supply chains
- Launching new product categories and distribution channels
Chawla’s strategic and operational acumen positions him as a key driver for GPI’s growth initiatives.
