Goafest 2018 felicitates the best creative talent in the industry on Day 2 with Creative ABBYs
Goa : After an engaging, educating and entertaining first day, the second day of Goafest 2018 brought about creative discussions and knowledge sharing amongst stalwarts across consulting, technology, creative arts, marketing, news media and policy makers. In its 50th year, The Abby Awards presentation for the evening included recognition of the best-in-class creativity at Broadcaster, Public Relations, Still Craft, Video Craft, Design and Direct Abbys.
The day began with the Mathrubhumi knowledge seminar with Dean Donaldson & Jonathan Tavss – Transformation Strategist & Digital Futurologist, Kaleidoko who overwhelmed the crowd with ideas and new technology and the need for a future for personalization, followed by Cameron Worth – Founder, SharpEnd who minced no words and spoke about a world where data comes first. He spoke about how his team works on bringing brands and IoT together. What followed was the Lokmat knowledge seminar, an engaging conversation with Child Artist, Singer, Songwriter and Rapper, Sparsh Shah who was born with over 40 fractures in his body because of a rare disease called Osteogenesis Imperfecta. Sparsh spoke about his journey and spoke about inclusive advertisements.
Following the engaging first half of the day, the post-lunch sessions were all about power packed action. Starting with the Lokmat knowledge seminar with actor and youth icon and Bollywood Superstar Sidharth Malhotra who spoke about his journey from being a middle-class boy next door to the hugely popular Bollywood star. This was followed by an engaging tete-a-tete between Politician, Olympic Silver Medalist & ex-army man Colonel Rajyavardhan Rathore and Navika Kumar – Managing Editor-Politics, Times Now at the Times Now Leadership Summit. The Times Now Leadership Summit continued with a session with Faye D’souza, Executive Editor, Mirror Now followed by a chat with Cricketing legend Jonty Rhodes discussing with Anand Narasimhan – Senior Editor, Times Now about on cricket, controversies, anecdotes and the interesting tale behind why Jonty Rhodes’ daughter is named India.
As the last rays of the sun kissed the Goan sand on Day 2, it was time for the presentation of the Broadcaster, Public Relations, Still Craft, Video Craft, Design and Direct Abbys. The awards celebrate the best-in-class creative geniuses and works of stellar significance in creativity. While Sony Pictures Networks led the tally for the Broadcaster Abbys with 6 metals, it was ZEEL that took home the gold for the night. While Design Abbys showed favour to Open Strategy and Design with six metals including 1 gold; Pi Communications took home 4 metals where Direct Specialist Abbys were concerned. While a total of 13 golds were handed out to top honours in Public Relations amongst other metals, it was Value 360 Communications that ate into the pie with a total of 8 metals. Still Craft Abbys saw dominance by The Social Street who grabbed 4 metals including 2 gold. But the happiest faces for the night clearly belonged to Early Man Film Pvt. Ltd., who took home a whopping 16 metals in the Video Craft Specialist category which included 5 golds, 4 silvers and 7 bronzes
With industry specific conclaves to expert seminars and ABBYs presentations, the Goafest ABBYs 2018 presented by the The Advertising Club and The AAA’ of I has once again set the benchmark high in celebrating excellence in creativity across media platforms and genres.
