The Founder-editor of Tehelka magazine Tarun Tejpal has been acquitted of rape charges by a court in Goa.
Tarun Tejpal was accused of sexually assaulting a colleague in 2013 during a conference at a five-star resort in Goa.
An FIR was registered against Tejpal by the Goa police in 2013, and following he was arrested. The Goa crime branch had filed a charge sheet against Tejpal, who has been out on bail since May 2014.
The trial court had charged him with rape, sexual harassment, and wrongful confinement in 2017. Tejpal challenged the charges in the Supreme Court. The SC ordered the trial to continue in Goa.
