Hyderabad : Telugu GEC Gemini TV is set to launch two new fiction shows Thodikodallu and Radha Gopalam in its evening time bands 6:30 PM and 7:00 PM respectively to bolster the early evening prime time slots.
It is seen as an deliberate efforts from the channel to scale up its Fiction GRP as the channel has constantly lost its fiction dominance in the market to its competitors during the past couple of years and hit a rock bottom in the recent times. while its new age competitors Zee Telugu and Maa TV gained from its peril.
Recently, Sun TV Network has roped in Cheerla Prabhakar Reddy, who worked with Zee Telugu and Annapoorna studios, in-order to re-write the fortune of the channel.
Apparently, Thodi Kodalu and Radha Gopalam are the maiden projects that are being launched under Prabhakar’s leadership. The Channel has also roped in Mr Subbu as its Business Head from Zee Kannada, who had a long standing association with Eenadu TV.
Radha Gopalam is the story of a big wealthy family in Rajahmundry that runs banana business. The head lady in the family once gets deceived by an uneducated girl who accepts the marriage with his son but runs-away with another guy in the last moment. From then she decided to marry her son to an educated girl. She announces a wholesum of about 1cr who brings an educated girl match to his son.
At the other side, there is a girl who lives with her stepmother and two step sisters. The step mother hears about the offer of the head lady and decides to arrange this step daughter as an educated girl and set match so that she can get the money. She lies to the lady that step daughter was educated and arranges the marriage. So that this girl goes into the head family. The rest of the story revolves around how the protagonist overcomes her short comings and manage to handle her mother in-law. It will be aired at 7:00 PM during the week days.
On the other hand, Thodi Kodalu @ 6:30 PM, is the story of an elderly lady, who has four sons and wanted everything in the family to be done according to her. Every small activity in the home and also in the lives of their sons should happen according to her. She wants everyone to live together with her. Three sons of her get married and are living in the same house with her and they want the fourth son also to get married.
There is a girl who has a younger brother and an younger sister. She should take care of them. Meanwhile she falls in love with the fourth son of the above family. The twist here is that the elder woman meets with an accident and goes to coma because of this girl. This matter is not known to family members except the lady in the coma and this girl.
Rest of the story revolves around how the girl and the elder lady in coma will be meeting each other and what happens from there-on.
Gemini TV also launches a new celebrity show Memu Saitam in its weekends that will have a film star putting his blood and toil for a poor man and donates all his earnings of the day to that poor man.
