According to TAM AdEx-Advertising on GEC TV Channel, half yearly report, Jan-Jun’23 observed 9pc growth in ad volumes whereas Jan-Jun’22 saw a minor 3pc rise over Jan-Jun’21. GEC ad volumes saw 5pc rise in Jan-Jun’23 compared to Jan-Jun’22.
In the Top Sectors, ‘Food & Beverage’ led the list with 29pc share of ad volumes followed by ‘Personal Care/Personal Hygiene’ with 22pc share during Jan-Jun’23. ‘Auto’ was the only new entrant in top 10 list. ‘Personal Healthcare’ and ‘Household Products’ saw positive rank shift.
‘Toilet Soaps’ led the GEC categories during H1, 2023. The Top 10 categories together added 40pc share of ad volumes. In Jan-Jun’23, categories on the rank 1, 2, 5, 6 and 8 observed a positive rank shift compared to Jan-Jun’22. Categories on rank 3, 6, 8, 9 and 10 were from ‘Food & Beverages’ sector.
Among the Leading GEC Advertisers, ‘HUL’ topped the list followed by ‘Reckitt’ during Jan-Jun’23. The Top 10 advertisers together added 62pc share of GEC ad volumes. ‘Godrej Consumer Products’ and ‘ITC’ observed positive rank shift. ‘Britannia Industries’ moved up by seven positions in the rankings, securing a place among the top 10. FMCG players dominated the top 10 list.
Total 3.7K+ Brands were present on Television during Jan-Jun’23. ‘Harpic Power Plus 10x Max Clean’ was the top brand on GEC. Top 10 Brands contributed 12pc share of Television ad volumes, five were from ‘HUL’ and remaining five from ‘Reckitt’.
In the Top Growing Categories, 150+ categories registered positive growth. ‘Toilet Soaps’ saw highest increase in ad secondages with growth of 91pc followed by ‘Toilet/Floor Cleaners’ with 50pc growth during Jan-Jun’23 compared to Jan-Jun’22.
‘Hindi GEC’ was the Leading Genre for advertising with 24pc share of ad volumes during both, Jan-Jun’23 and Jan-Jun’22. Top 5 channels genre accounted to 70pc share of ad volumes during both, Jan-Jun’23 and Jan-Jun’22.
