According to a report released conducted by AZ RESEARCH PPL commissioned by AROI, the FM radio industry has seen tremendous growth during the COVID-19 period where the entire country is under lockdown.
During the lockdown, the reach of FM Radio has reached 51 Million during COVID lockdown from 48 Million pre-Covid lockdowns. The report also reveals that the time spent increased by 28% across the country. An increase of 23% has been observed in the average daily duration in the listening to the radio, which primarily has come on the back of a strong increase of 30 mins time spent on the medium.
Higher Credibility
According to the report COVID-19 INDIAN LOCKDOWN: Impact on Media consumption in UrbanIndia, Radio credibility too has seen an increase.
The report suggests that the credibility of Radio as a medium is higher than that of TV, Newspaper and Social Media. TV is a little over 80% credible whereas Radio and the Internet are 90% credible.
According to the report, newspapers are a little over 70% credible and social media is considered the least credible form of media with less than 70%.
