Mumbai: Filmfare is all set to take its illustrious legacy forward with Famously Filmfare, a first of its kind celebrity chat show. After successfully creating value and establishing a strong foothold in the industry over the last several decades, Filmfare will now extend its presence in the video format on both, television and digital platforms.
Mr. Jitesh Pillai, Editor Filmfare, who will be seen having a tete-a-tete with some of the biggest names in the industry, will front the newly conceptualized property. The weekly chat show is set to premiere digitally across Jio Network on May 12th and will be telecast on Colors Infinity on May 14th at 9pm.
Jitesh Pillai as the host of the show, says, “Most interviews and chat shows follow a fixed question and answer format, this show however, is an attempt to be as unstructured and out of the box as possible. Famously Filmfare will take the viewer beyond the over-used, biased exterior of celebrities that we’re subjected to every day, and actually make the effort to bring to the table, never before heard or seen content. It will showcase personal anecdotes from their lives and give us real access to some unexpected and interesting stories. On the outside, the show can easily be taken as a conversation between two friends meeting over a meal”.
On Filmfare’s entry into video content, CEO of Worldwide Media, Mr. Deepak Lamba says, “Filmfare has been synonymous with movies and entertainment since its inception, and has always aimed to bring fans closer to their favorite stars. Filmfare’s magazine, portal and awards properties have given it a unique leverage through the years with the Indian film industry. Famously Filmfare is a natural extension of this and marks Filmfare’s debut into video content. The popularity of celebrity led video content across platforms shows us that the audiences crave a more intimate experience with their favorite stars. We aim to create content that is infused with a fresh, enthusiastic and fun vibe that will make for a great viewing experience on both, television and digital platforms.”
Famously Filmfare will be graced by a string of A-list celebs such as Karan Johar, Kareena Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Sonam Kapoor, and many more phenomenal actors who have won accolades for their talent and hard work. The unique and unconventional chat show will be produced and made available to audiences in six different languages besides the Hindi-English version which launches featuring the stars from the Hindi film industry this May 2017. The other versions in the pipeline include, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Punjabi and Malayalam. The biggest stars from film fraternities of the respective region will grace the show as guests, capturing the Indian film industry in all its glory and ensuring that it appeals to the diverse set of regional audiences across the country.
