Beyond #WFH is our initiative to spread positivity and inspire our readers by inviting leaders and friends to share what they do to unwind and relax after they finish their work-from-home and work-for-home responsibilities during the lockdown.
While Covid-19 has had multiple impacts on business and Beyond #WFH is not about business, it’s about self-discovery, things that will give us the strength to get through the lockdown and more importantly for those ‘moments’ that will stay with us for long and beyond this pandemic.
PS: We are not talking business!
In this story of Beyond #WFH we bring to you, Robert Godinho, MD, MediaMonks, India.
Every morning, as I wake up the new normal, has changed from what I left it as the night previous.
For a digitally steeped firm like ours, whilst we adapted to WFH instantly to feed our creative souls, we took to some community activities .
One of the most important things to keep active and working from home could make you sluggish.
Fitness is the first thing that I have concentrated on during this lockdown. What used to be a 2-3 days a week routine has turned into daily exercise with my phone buzzing at 6 am with the workout of the day. One of our production controller’s, also a fitness enthusiast sends our whole team a fitness regime, made keeping in mind functional exercises. With over 35 of our artists working out every day, our mission is to make sure no one feels alone, in these tough times.
Music is an universal language of communication. It’s been known to heal and uplift. So to make this time, more entertaining, we have devised a 4 week music session with a professional DJ with nuances of DJing professionally, a lot of my team is looking at this as ‘ Upskilling’. As a leader, my job is to constantly motivate and harness my artists. Whilst I handpick those who have a fire in their belly to create, make and constantly experiment, they too need to be given the right tools.
Telling stories may be what we do for a living, but during lockdown we turned it into a hobby once again, with the Quarantine film series. Each and every one of our artists has the opportunity to tell a story- from looking after the elderly, to reconnecting with remote families, the films shot at home allow the artists to keep creating and expressing and keeping the whole WFH experience a lot more entertaining!
