New Delhi: ETV has bagged the television broadcast rights for the much anticipated ‘The Great Khali Returns Series’ scheduled for 24th February 2016 at Haldwani and 28th February 2016 in Dehradun.
The deal entail ETV to not just the right to broadcast the fights live, but also extend promotional support for the series through its entire network.
The event features ‘The Great Khali’ fighting on Indian soil for the first time ever. Apart from featuring 14 international wrestlers the series also offers a platform on a par with any international event of this scale, for an equal number of budding Indian wrestlers.
Commenting on the association, Ranjit Rawat, Chairman, The Great Khali Returns Series, said, “The series is an endeavour of our Chief Minister to not just enhance the sporting fervour amongst the youth of our state but also announce the year of sports in Uttarakhand culminating in the National Games in 2018. This deal with ETV will go a long way in furthering this endeavour.”
The two-day fight spectacle has been initiated and coordinated by #CM4Youth, the Uttarakhand Chief Minister’s youth outreach programme, in association with the Bharatiya Samajik Sewa Sansthan, an NGO focused on imparting education to underprivileged children and OmReels Entertainment, a specialist entertainment solutions provider.
Jagdeesh Chandra, Head, ETV News Network said, “We are happy to play an integral role in promoting The Great Khali Returns Series, as it is a medium to link today’s youth to sports.
