Mumbai: It continues to rain awards for Eros International, India’s leading film studio that gave audiences the largest number of blockbusters last year along with critically acclaimed films such as Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Tanu Weds Manu Returns, Badlapur and NH10.
Following the extravagant win of over 60 awards across various award functions, Eros added another outstanding total of 16 awards to the total for their films at the prestigious TOIFA Awards held in Dubai on 18th March 2016.
Eros’ latest epic, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus Bajirao Mastani won a grand total of 9 awards. Sanjay Leela Bhansali won Best Director and Best Music Composer. The film also won Best Cinematography, Best Art Direction, Best Costume Design. Shreya Ghoshal won Best Playback Singer (Female) for Mohe Rang Do Lal. and Priyanka Chopra took home Best Actor in a Supporting Role along with Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone who won the Best On-screen Jodi of the Year. Ranveer Singh also won Best Actor (Male) for Bajirao Mastani.
The biggest blockbuster of 2015, won Best Story and Best Film while Tanu Weds Manu Returns won 3 awards—Best Dialogue, Best Actor in a Comic Role and Best Actor (Female). Nawazuddin Siddiqui won the Best Actor in a Negative Role for Badlapur and Sooraj Pancholi won Best Debut for Hero.
