Mumbai: Post the successful innings at the recently concluded Guild, Stardust and Screen awards, it was honors galore once again for Eros International’s 2015 releases at the 61stBritannia Filmfare Awards 2015. Eros films yet again ruled at the glittering star studded ceremony held last night in Mumbai with 13 awards for it releases including Bajirao Mastani,Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Tanu Weds Manu Returns.
Eros’ epic historical drama directed by Sanjay Leela BhansaliBajirao Mastanigarnered a remarkable total of 9 awardsat the prestigious function including Best Director – Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Best Actor (Male) – Ranveer Singh, Best Film, Best Actor in Supporting Role (female) – Priyanka Chopra, Best Costume – Anju Modi and Maxima Basu, Best Production Design – Sujeet Sawant, Sriram Iyengar and Saloni Dhatrak, Best Action – Sham Kaushal, Best Playback (Female) – Shreya Goshal and Best Choreography – Pandit Birju Maharaj for Mohe Rang Do Laal.
Salman Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan, the biggest grosser of 2015, won the award forBest Story – Vijayendra Prasad and Best Debut (Male) went to Sooraj Pancholi for Hero.
Tanu Weds Manu Returns,the super hit family entertainer wonthe awards for Best Dialogue – Himanshu Sharma and Critics’ Awards for Best Actor (Female) – Kangna Ranaut.
While the above films went on to win the significant awards, Eros films bagged an unmatched 23 nominations across various categories at the Filmfare Awards, the largest for a single studio.
