Equitas Small Finance Bank has released a film showcasing another true story about the impact it is making in the lives of those facing daunting challenges, on the occasion of Kisan Divas, December 23, 2023.
The story is of a farmer from Tamil Nadu, Kamatchi. He speaks of the many challenges that a farmer faces, the biggest of which is water for agriculture. He had to give up farming, he rues, and the cattle that he had on the farm.
A loan from Equitas and proceeds from the sale of cattle helped him set up a brickyard and thrive. Having tasted success and achieved some financial stability, he also set up a mic set business, with another loan from the same bank. These ventures didn’t just help him repay his loans, but also return to farming. A confident Kamatchi goes about his day now, having diversified his income sources. The brand signs off with the message: ‘What you do when you bank with us is more than words can say’.
Vignesh Murali, Senior Vice President & Head – Marketing, Equitas SFB, said, “While Christmas is known to be the season of joy and hope, and Farmers’ Day is observed ahead of Christmas eve, we decided to honour the invaluable contribution of farmers in the development of the country and economy. Kamatchi’s story is a tribute to all the farmers who despite facing water shortage, surviving climatic changes, etc. are dedicated to keep the agriculture ecosystem thriving in India.”
Equitas SFB has always been banking beyond transactions, he said, adding that Kamatchi’s story is a reminder that the bank continues to provide hope and support to ‘the nation’s backbone’.
The film is live on Equitas Small Finance Bank’s social media channels.
