Mumbai-headquartered Enormous Brands, a 10-year-old independent agency, has set its sights on expanding its presence in Delhi-NCR (Gurgaon).
The 80-member agency has offices in Mumbai and Delhi-NCR, and also handles clients including Diageo brands and startups from Bengaluru, remotely. While Enormous’ Gurgaon office has not gone back to its peak strength post Covid, the agency is now firmly focused on expanding its presence in NCR.
The agency recently released a Diwali film done by its Gurgaon office for Rangriti, a sister brand of Biba, featuring actor Kriti Sanon. The brand was a recent win for the agency in NCR and more conversations and conversions are in the works, revealed Managing Partner Ashish Khazanchi, in conversation with Medianews4u.com.
On the back of the work, the agency has bagged another brand from the stable. The work should be out soon, he revealed.
“Some of the talent is already in and some have been identified and are to join shortly. We have about 20 people in Enormous Delhi right now and I see this going up to 30 to 35 by March/April 2024,” he said.
Enormous announced the appointment of Pranoy Kanojia as the Head of Planning in the Gurgaon office and that of Shrikant Thounaojam as Creative Director in October 2023.
An Executive Creative Director is set to join shortly.
The Independent Opportunity
The belief is that there is space for independents operating at scale that can provide an alternative to large network agencies.
“While there are large independents like Tilt, Womb, Spring (and if I can count Enormous) in Mumbai, there seems to be a space for a sizeable independent in Delhi. There are new relationships that have started off (for Enormous) and I see the scope for us to scale in the market,” Khazanchi added.
The agency has no plans to set up shop in Bengaluru in the immediate future, despite handling a lot of work from there.
“Bengaluru has a number of independents and they are doing good work. There is a start-up to start-up ecosystem, and the start-ups we work with are happy with us handling the work from Mumbai. But in the Delhi market, I feel there is a real opportunity to expand,” he explained.
A post by Khazanchi on LinkedIn alongside the Rangriti ad reveals the intent: “Enormous Delhi sparkles just before Diwali with a gorgeous ad for Rangriti. We’ve powered up in Delhi to give this city, both in terms of the clients and the talent, a good independent alternative. With good work, good people, good times. Delhi is next for enormous.”
