Emirates has appointed IPG Mediabrands as its global media partner after the conclusion of a global media review that was initiated in August 2019.
Havas Media was the incumbent agency globally since 2017, Emirates renewed its contract with Havas Media all through to 2020 with the task of managing the airline’s global media strategy, planning, social, traditional and digital investments across 150 destinations worldwide.
Havas Media’s exit comes after 6 years of relationship with the Emirates. It first won the account from Starcom in 2014 and has since launched some of Emirates’ most high profile campaigns featuring Pele, Ronaldo, and Jennifer Aniston.
Both IPG Mediabrands and Emirates are yet to respond for comment, while a statement from Havas Media’s spokesperson said, “Over the last six years, Havas Media Group has “enjoyed a tremendous partnership” with Emirates. “Our teams around the world are very proud of the growth that we have achieved together, and we wish them continued success and prosperity in the years to come”.
Emirates has handed over Southeast Asia and Greater China creative duties to Publicis Worldwide in 2018. The scope of work includes delivery on all regional brands and local campaigns.
