Mumbai : Daily soap queen Ekta Kapoor, who literally changed the face of TV soaps and has also given several Bollywood blockbuster films, is now all set to extend her horizons in Non-fiction shows, with an upcoming reality show titled “Box Cricket League”, which is based on a the trial version of the Cricket league among TV stars held last year.
The unique reality show ‘Box Cricket League’ (BCL) which is an original format of cricket where all the top TV actors both male and female will be playing the game. Apart from the cricket match, the show will have back room and behind the scenes drama which will turn the cricket game in to a reality show with live actions and locker room showdown.
This will be the first reality show of its kind, where the celebrities will compete with each other in an indoor Box Cricket League instead of fighting for Box-Office and TRPs. Earlier the first season of BCL was played as an unofficial league without being televised. However, It seems Ekta Kapoor had decided to adopt the format and give a facelift to the event by adding some reality elements and brand value to the format and this year the second season matches will be televised in a reality show format.
The show will have a combination of on-ground and behind-the-scenes activities coming simultaneously and will see 8 teams from 8 different cities of India like Mumbai, Ahmadabad, Kolkata, Pune , Bangalore , Chandigarh , Delhi and Jaipur to compete for the title.
According to the sources, Ekta has already signed up over 155 TV stars for the same.’
Though, we have already seen Bollywood and Television actors playing cricket in CCL (Celebrity Cricket League), but watching it in Ekta Kapoor’s style in BCL would be real fun. The new format also has evoked Lots of Expectations among the TV Channels.
