Droga5 has strengthened its leadership team by appointing Emma Montgomery as Global Chief Strategy Officer, marking a pivotal addition alongside Pelle Sjoenell, Worldwide Chief Creative Officer, and Mark Green, Global CEO.
Based in New York, Montgomery’s role will focus on uniting and enhancing Droga5’s strategy and creative initiatives. With over 20 years of experience, including her recent position as CEO of DDB Chicago, she brings a wealth of expertise from high-profile roles at Leo Burnett and TBWA. Her impressive background spans diverse clients such as Kraft and Diageo.
“Emma is a world-class strategic leader and authority that I’ve long admired and dreamt of being partners-in-crime with,” said Sjoenell. “Her work inspires creativity that connects people and brands in ways that advance both business and culture. I’m excited to finally collaborate with her alongside Mark and to see her enhance our leadership and strategy teams worldwide.”
Montgomery expressed enthusiasm about joining Droga5, “I’m excited to join Droga5 and help carve out a new path for the brand globally, building on its tremendous legacy of creative leadership,” said Montgomery. “The potential of Droga5, combined with the possibilities of Accenture Song, was too exciting to pass up. No other agency has what they have, and as marketing shifts, the opportunity to make creativity a genuine partner to business is real here. I’m eager to return to my strategy roots and work with Pelle, Mark, and our network of Drogans to demonstrate the power of creativity.”
Her appointment comes as Droga5 experiences significant growth, including the recent acquisition of Brazilian agency SOKO, further solidifying its position in the Latin American market. With new partnerships with Bosch and Tourism Australia, along with exciting projects like the Dune: Prophecy promotion and the UN’s “Once Upon a Future” campaign, Droga5 is poised for a transformative phase under her leadership.
