National: DocsApp and Seniority have joined hands to work cohesively for a Breast Cancer Awareness campaign ‘Positively Pink’throughout the month of October. Breast Cancer is not an uncommon condition; however, several people still do not know the intricacies of it and fail to take prompt action leading to delay in getting appropriate treatment and care.
According to the Union Health Ministry, breast cancer ranks as the number one cancer among Indian females with rates as high as 25.8 per 100,000 women and mortality of 12.7 per 100,000 women. As per estimates, approximately 17,97,900 women in India may have breast cancer by 2020. The main factor leading to a low survival rate is lack of awareness and in order to improve breast cancer outcomes, early detection is critical.
The online doctor consultation platform along with Seniority, India’s largest shopping destination for senior citizens, will aim to alleviate this issue by addressing concerns and spreading awareness on the lesser-known facts of Breast Cancer, especially for older adults.
Mr. Satish Kannan, Co-Founder & CEO, DocsApp, “Senior women in our country are more often than not, denied the care and comfort they need. DocsApp & Seniority have joined hands to reach out and provide them, the best in quality healthcare. Through our Breast Cancer Awareness initiative, we want to impart essential information to promote early detection, and timely medical intervention”.
Ayush Agrawal and Tapan Mishra, Co-founders, Seniority, said, “Breast cancer risk increases as women grow older, and it becomes more difficult to diagnose the problem and cure it completely. This October, we are glad to join hands with DocsApp to create awareness about this deadly disease that is a major cause of mortality among older women. This association will help our audience in the early detection of cancer and preventive measures for treatment.”
Individuals can log on to WhatsApp and raise their concerns through a live chat where a specialist doctor from DocsApp will provide the right information. Furthermore, those who are unable to speak to the doctors can later access the DocsApp or log on to Seniority website (www.seniority.in) to get their queries answered appropriately.
