Disney+ Hotstar’s website temporarily went down on Friday, 17th February, due to expiration of the domain, according to media sources.
Social media users started the hashtag #Hotstarserverdown on twitter to try and find the reason why it happened and the developments that followed revealed that the expiration of the domain had caused it.
Users also circulated a screenshot from whois.com, a site where domain owner and renewal details are publicly available, which further revealed that the domain has been renwed for 10 years on 17th February, 2023.

The website was down across major cities Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur, Lucknow, Chandigarh, Kolkata, Nagpur, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Bengaluru, according to Downdetector.in, which is an online monitoring website to show where websites have shut down.
