Discovery Networks has appointed Gary Chin as the new Director of Ad Sales for the Asia Pacific region, who joins the television network with a digital background.
Gary is part of the international ad sales team, responsible for ad sales activities for Discovery’s content in the region including integrated programme solutions for its clients and partners.
He brings to the role 17 years of experience in digital media, both in the US and APAC region, with CBS Interactive, Admax and Zuji. He joins Discovery from 6Estates, an analytics company he co-founded in 2014.
He will report to Vikram Channa, Vice President – Production and Development/Commercial Partnerships. Vikram Channa’s role got expanded recently with the additional responsibilities of international ad sales business after the exit of long-time VP of sales Jacqueline Tok joined Sony Pictures as VP of media and sponsorship after 12 and a half years with Discovery.
Gary Chin joins the firm at a time of considerable change under new regional boss Arthur Bastings, who has rebooted the company’s strategy for Asia as the media owner giant activates a large-scale global cost cutting programme.
