Mumbai: discovery+ is all set to surprise its audiences by bringing the Indian version of the hit international franchise Say Yes To The Dress to the country! Right in time for the wedding season, the brand has roped in one of India’s most popular rappers and youth sensations, Badshah for the music video. Joining him as the female lead singer is none other than the melodious Payal Dev. This groovy track is composed by Aditya Dev and the video is produced by the production house, The Content Team. To take the song’s virality quotient up a notch, discovery+ has roped in everyone’s favorite dancer, the highly celebrated Punit J Pathak to choreograph it.
That’s not it! Audiences for the first time get to witness the legendary composer Badshah in five different never seen before avatars including that of an event manager, pandit, chef, rapper, and fashion designer, bringing about the energy that has no match. Not only does the video showcase real-time brides but also successfully brings out the show’s core theme of fun, celebration, and giving each bride the attention, they deserve. While the show is visually mesmerizing, the rapper’s newest wedding track is sure to get one swaying, making its way to the top of your playlist!
“We at discovery+ believe in offering content that caters to different passion groups. As we advance towards the wedding season, we are excited to present another original from our global hit international franchise- Say Yes To The Dress India. We foresee this as a family favorite and recognize that weddings are incomplete without groovy tracks. Therefore, to bring the show’s elements to life, we collaborated with Badshah for this outstanding track that showcases the significance of a wedding dress in a bride’s life”, said Issac John, Head of Marketing, Direct-to-Consumer and Discovery Networks APAC at Discovery, Inc.
Badshah on his new track for discovery+ ’s Say Yes To The Dress India, said, “The song hits the right notes for each bride, and it was absolutely fun to envision its playout as I tried to capture the multiple thoughts that run through the mind of a bride. For the first time, I was not just being myself but playing some quirky avatars which made the experience one of a kind for me too.” He further added, “It has been an absolute delight to collaborate with discovery+ for the second time this year and I look forward to working with them on more such interesting projects in the future. I hope this song sets the bar high and makes its way to everyone’s playlist as they Say Yes To The Dress.”
Neeraj Sharma, Founder and Principal producer of The Content Team said, “We at ‘TCT’ believe in coming up with creative solutions that bring audiences closer to the content. Buoyed by the recent successes of some of the prestigious singing reality shows in India, we have a fair understanding of what consumers are looking forward to in the music industry. We are thrilled to bring to you the biggest shaadi blockbuster of the year.”
It’s always a fun time working with Badshah and this song is nothing less than magic to the ears. Since we thoroughly enjoy this track ourselves, I am sure the audiences too will give it just the amount of love it deserves”, said Singer Payal Dev.
“Listening to the track, I knew it was going to be the song of the season so I tried to keep the choreography as simple and catchy as possible so that everyone can recreate it with ease on any Indian wedding or party occasion. Also, Badshah has created such an amazing and catchy song and I had to justify it visually hence thought of bringing a surprise element for his fans by showcasing him in a never seen before looks of a Pandit, Wedding Planner, Chef, and Designer which he portrayed so well.”, said choreographer Punit J Pathak.
