With a career spanning over 17 years in television, music, and sports across content strategy, IP development, A&R, sync, and licensing, Ruth brings an unparalleled wealth of expertise to the role. She will play a key part in expanding DESI TRILL’s footprint in one of the world’s most dynamic and fast-growing music markets.
In her new role, Ruth will oversee DESI TRILL’s operations in India, driving the brand’s expansion through strategic collaborations, curating groundbreaking events, and helping to amplify Indian and South Asian artists on the global stage.

Prior to joining DESI TRILL, Ruth Mohinani served as Senior Vice President of Content Strategy at Rolling Stone India, where she played a crucial role in shaping content direction and artist engagement. Ruth also previously worked as General Manager (A&R) at Universal Music India, where she led Indian hip-hop development with record-breaking global streams under Mass Appeal India, and was instrumental in launching Def Jam India. Ruth’s illustrious career also includes leadership roles at NBA India, Viacom18 (Vh1 India & Comedy Central India), and Zee Trendz/Zee Café, where she was responsible for local IP development, content programming, talent management, and events.
Ruth has also been a steadfast mentor to emerging artists, helping them navigate the complexities of the music industry with confidence.
