Mumbai: Dentsu India has announced the appointment of Abhirup Datta as Chief Executive Officer of Performance Media Solutions, aimed at accelerating the agency’s growth through performance marketing. Abhirup will spearhead Dentsu Performance 2.0, focusing on enhancing the network’s performance marketing capabilities and driving significant sales growth for Sokrati.
Dentsu’s newly launched Performance 2.0 signifies a groundbreaking shift in performance marketing, integrating artificial intelligence, advanced data analytics, and automation for transformative outcomes. This initiative reflects Dentsu’s commitment to “Innovate to Impact,” positioning the agency as a comprehensive growth partner that delivers scalable and flexible solutions for both regional and global clients.
Abhirup’s appointment highlights Dentsu’s dedication to achieving exceptional client outcomes in performance marketing. His primary objectives will include driving sales growth at Sokrati, expanding market presence, developing innovative go-to-market strategies, and fostering outstanding client growth in alignment with Dentsu’s global vision. He will work closely with Nilesh Gohil, President of Performance Practice and CEO of Sokrati, and report to Anita Kotwani, CEO Media, South Asia.
Bringing over 20 years of experience in retail, telecom, travel, and media, Abhirup has a strong track record in scaling businesses and driving revenue growth. Prior to this role, he led app growth and revenue initiatives at ZEE5 and held leadership positions at Disney Star, TUI India, HT Media, and Bharti Retail.
