Mumbai: Advertising group Dentsu Aegis Network (DAN) has consolidated its India operations under Ashish Bhasin, the organisation’s current chairman and chief executive for South Asia. As Rohit Ohri, who was executive chairman of Dentsu India and CEO of Dentsu Asia Pacific (south), is being relocated to Singapore as CEO of Dentsu Asia Pacific (excluding Japan).
On Tuesday, Dentsu has sent out an official communication announcing Rohit Ohri’s elevation and relocation to Singapore. Ohri will head the Dentsu branded agencies within the Dentsu Aegis Network.
“Dentsu is an agency network with a long-standing history and a strong footprint in Asia Pacific. Rohit shares our creative ambition and strong vision for Dentsu and the way we work with our clients. I’m delighted he will be taking on a more central position within the network to help guide the business outside of Japan,” said Hiroaki Charlie Sano, executive officer of Dentsu Inc. and CEO of the Dentsu Branded Agencies.
Ashish Bhasin, on the other hand, is all set to roll out a new executive council in India. DAN India has six companies including Dentsu Communications, Dentsu Marcom, Dentsu Creative Impact, Dentsu Taproot, Dentsu Web Chutney and Dentsu Media.
“Ashish Bhasin is not likely to include the heads of all of them in the executive council but will have one representation from each of these companies,” said a senior Dentsu executive on condition of anonymity.
