Decoding Shankar- a film on the life of the legendary musician Shankar Mahadevan directed by Deepti Pillay Sivan has won another international accolade. The film has been awarded the Best International Documentary at the prestigious London Independent International Film Festival.
Decoding Shankar is a personality sketch –focusing on how Shankar Mahadevan balances his career as a singer, music composer, teacher, family life, and even his passion for cooking. The film brings out decisive moments that shaped his life and musical sensibilities – in his own inimitable storytelling narrative style.
The film has won many international awards, such as the Best International Documentary at the Santa Monica Short film festival. It has won awards at Toronto International Women Film Festival, Indo-French international film Festival, -Tokyo International Short film festival.
Decoding Shankar has been screened as the official selection at various prestigious international film festivals in India, Germany, Korea, Gaithersburg, to name a few.
