New Delhi: DD National is set to air the first season of ‘Sadak Ka Superstar’, the first of its kind reality show made in Arunachal Pradesh.
The show was initially selected to be telecast in DD Arunprabha, however, the ones at Doordarshan liked the idea and decided to telecast the same on the national platform.
Written and directed by Duyu Tabyo and produced by Alison Welly of Space Miracle Studios Pvt Ltd, the focus of the show is to provide a platform to the talented, irrespective of their age and background, to showcase their skills in any field they feel comfortable.
Tabyo said the show was shot entirely in Arunachal Pradesh. “Sadak Ka Superstar is the first reality show produced by a local production house involving an entirely local cast and crew,” he said.
“We traveled to every district possible to shoot the show and came across hundreds of talented people. The selection rounds of the show were mostly shot on the streets as we’re in the hunt for raw talent,” he added.
Tabyo said ‘Sadak Ka Superstar’ is not limited to singing or dancing and the show aims at giving the people an opportunity to showcase whatever talent they may possess – folk singing, storytelling, painting, mimicry, and so on.
“Besides promoting local talent, the show also gave an opportunity to the local writers, cinematographers and those with a strong cinematic potential to prove their worth,” said Welly.
“We are hoping this small effort of ours will inspire many other local production houses of the state to follow suit and also that the participants will take their passion to the next level,” she said.
“A lot of effort has been put into the show, so I hope, the people will appreciate the show,” Welly said.
The show, hosted by Bollywood supporting actress Chomina Beyong, will be telecast on DD National from June 6 on Saturday and Sunday from 11 am.
