Well into the new normal, it’s safe to say that the world continues to undergo a major reset that has brought with it a sense of reinventing and self-introspection. With an eye towards the future and what it beholds, the second day of ‘Art of Pivot’- Promax India Virtual 2021 featured a series of interesting conversations that offered new challenges and creative solutions from the global speakers of the media and entertainment industry.
Sharing the perception gained by years of experience working on different projects, the second day of Promax India witnessed speakers like Anshul Ailawadi – Business Head Viacom18 (Youth Music and Entertainment) at a Fireside chat with Mihir Shah, Vice President, Media Partners Asia on how channels like MTV stay relevant to the native GenZ. The insightful session was filled with great learnings backed with indepth study on multiple levels, one of which being the underlying importance of understanding your customers. Anshul Ailawadi highlighted that, in the new era, choices, and preferences of the youth on the professional front are highly influenced by the evolved world that they live in. As per one of the surveys, the Gen Z audience comes from a broken world where they are confused about everything, hence 70% of them believe that a side hustle is a real short, and success to fame, that includes various options available for them in the digital realm.
Adding to that, EOIN MCLAUGHLIN, 4Creative at Channel 4, shared his thoughts and perception on ‘How to be Brave’ and take creative risks. He presented his experience working with Channel 4. He underlined the idea of how negative feedback can be transformed into strong resources and showed how tactfully by collecting all the complaints he had received he was able to create a successful campaign out of it.
Furthermore, ANNA GODUNOVA of TNT4/ Match Premier Russia discussed her familiarity with ‘Big Phenomenal for Small Channel’ and the strategy behind winning the maximum number of awards. She highlighted on what goes behind the scenes while creating an outstanding campaign promo – be it technology, a talented team, or great management skills, each one has its unique potential and skill sets. Most importantly, a great leader must know the art of blending them together to create an excellent campaign.
The highlight of the day was ‘Killer Campaigns’ presented by GB SRITHAR, of Singapore Tourism Board and TAMAGNA Ghosh, of Amazon Prime Video India led by Rahul Mishra of Shemaroo Entertainment Ltd. One of the most compelling sessions that discussed STB’s association with the Chhota Bheem project as they shared what goes into strategising and executing campaigns that rise above the rest and create a powerful impact.
Similarly, Tamagna Ghosh expressed, that they reached out to their customers during the conception phase of their upcoming project ‘Sherni’ to understand what they are saying. An interesting point shared by him was on how the key to create Killer Campaigns is to listen to your audience and understand the core of the message that needs to be articulated.
With an exceptional lineup of speakers and thought-provoking conversations, ‘Art of Pivot’ continues Day 3 today.
