Chennai: Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Daimler Truck AG, has named Michael Moebius as the new President and Chief Procurement & Supply Chain Officer, effective November 1, 2024. In this new role, Michael will succeed Muthu Maruthachalam C, bringing over three decades of global experience in the passenger and commercial vehicle sectors.
Before assuming his new position at DICV, Michael was the Head of Quality Management at Daimler Truck Asia (DTA) in Japan. There, he led quality initiatives for Mitsubishi Fuso, DICV, PABCO, and key CKD (Completely Knocked Down) assembly locations worldwide. Michael’s leadership in quality management has been pivotal in enhancing product quality, reducing warranty costs, and driving innovations such as ‘Proactive Sensing’, an advanced big data solution for early failure detection.
Michael’s tenure with Daimler spans over three decades. He began his career with Daimler in 1990 and has since held several key roles across Mercedes-Benz Cars and Daimler Buses, gaining rich international experience in Brazil, Vietnam, Iran, India, and Japan. From 2010 to 2016, he played a key role at DICV, where he was instrumental in establishing global quality standards and driving product and process excellence at the company’s facilities in India.

In his new role, Michael will be responsible for overseeing DICV’s procurement and supply chain strategies, with a focus on leveraging advanced technologies, strengthening supplier relationships, and ensuring cost-effectiveness. He will also play a key role in supporting DICV’s long-term vision of operational excellence, innovation, and sustainability.
