MRUC (Media Research Users Council) announced the release of full and complete data for IRS 2019Q3, this includes data for Andhra Pradesh, in view of sample shortfall in Andhra Pradesh, MRUC had released IRS 2019Q3 data (on December 27, 2019) without Andhra Pradesh, as a result the industry had to refrain from comparative analysis and from publishing their all India numbers/rankings.
With AP data also updated in Q32019, IRS users will now be able to publish their all India numbers, and trend studies with previous two quarters of IRS 2019.
The 2019Q3 data is a rolling average of the last quarter of IRS 2017 (Q4) and three quarters of IRS 2019 (Q1+Q2+Q3). IRS 2019Q3 fieldwork covers August 2019 through November 2019.
For Top Dailies Readership- All India, Daily Thanthi is the one that has shown a slight growth with a total AIR of 7198 in Q3. Despites of such big names in this category, there hasn’t been any growth in AIR from these dallies.
The AIR of DainikJagran stood at 17496 in 2019 Q3 (dropping from 18146 in 2019 Q2), while Hindustan stood at No. 3 witnessed an AIR of 14563 in 2019 Q3 (dropping from 15716 in 2019 Q2). Dainik Bhaskar, Amar Ujala, Malayala Manorama, Rajasthan Patrika, Lokmat, The Times of India, have fallen down in terms of Q3.
After the addition of AP Telangana’s data, Eenadu is in the Top 10, despite being dominated by big names such as Lokmat, Dainik Jagran, Dainik Bhaskar and other names. However, the only striking difference in this category is that Daily Thanthi has moved up in terms of AIR as compared to its previous AIR in Q2 and Q3.
