Mumbai: In celebration of 25 years in India, on July 16, Crown Worldwide Group – a privately-owned global logistics company – is expanding the digital capabilities of its business offerings to meet the changing times and make it even simpler for individuals and corporates to live, work, and do business anywhere in the world.
Founded in Japan in 1965 and headquartered in Hong Kong, Crown delivers a broad portfolio of complementary brands that include Crown Workspace, Crown World Mobility, Crown Relocations, Crown Records Management, Crown Fine Art, and Crown Logistics. Each of these brands helps create and optimize working environments, reduce risks and remove barriers to growth opportunities; enabling individuals and organizations to be more productive and sustainable.
Crown Worldwide Group was established in India in 1996. It has facilities in 11 cities including New Delhi and Ludhiana in the north, Kolkata and Bhubaneswar in the east, Hyderabad, Chennai, Coimbatore, and Bangalore in the south, and Pune, Mumbai, and Ahmedabad in the west.
As Crown marks its major milestone, the company is setting its sights on new growth opportunities in India. Crown is looking at a year-on-year growth of 25% in the next few years in India. The company is looking beyond the current pandemic with plans to invest $30 million across its portfolio of brands and command a leadership position in the domestic logistics and mobility space. This is a sharp jump from Crown’s $10-million investment between 2006 and 2010, and $20-million investment during the 11-year period from 2010 to 2021. At present, the Records Management division accounts for two-third of Crown’s total business in India.
Over the last two-and-a-half decades in India, Crown has continuously improved solutions and integrated new-age technology and digitization to address the ever-changing demands of the market. From introducing electronic inventorying called e-packing to virtual consultation, which obviates in-house consultation, Crown Relocations has made relocating simpler for clients.
Crown Records Management in India, apart from storing physical records, offers several digital transformation solutions by way of workflow automation which has a definite impact in improving efficiency and productivity across functions like HR, Finance & Accounts, facility management and contract management. In a remote-working world, the digital transformation of core processes not only mitigates risks but provides for business continuity.
A recent addition to the portfolio in India has been Crown Workspace, which offers sustainable and hassle-free workplace change projects. The services span across commercial and specialist relocations, moves and changes, IT services, furniture, interiors, and storage.
As part of the digital push, Crown has introduced an Internet-of-Things (IoT)-based real-time workforce monitoring solution called Genio which addresses issues around workforce tracking, productivity monitoring, and compliance adherence to social distancing and health and safety practices at workplaces. People-intensive industries like manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, and automobiles will benefit the most as contactless attendance, payroll, incident reporting, and resolution remain key to uninterrupted operations.
Crown Worldwide Group’s Regional Managing Director for South Asia Srinivas Krishnan said, “In a rapidly evolving marketplace in almost all sectors, a stable management team from Crown India is always ready to consult with
clients to demonstrate commitment to making it simpler through out-of-the-box solutions in our sphere of business for peace of mind and release unidentified pain points.”
The company’s 25th-anniversary plan also includes the launch of a state-of-the-art facility in New Delhi. This involves consolidating facilities in the region and expanding business services to deliver solutions under Crown Relocations, Crown Mobility, Crown Workspace, and Crown Records Management from a single facility in the NCR.
