Mumbai : Truecaller, a free phone directory and caller identification app provider that recently entered India, has selected Contract Advertising as its first creative agency in the country.
While there was no formal pitch process, Stockholm based Truecaller met a couple of agencies before signing the deal with Contract.
Both the companies confirmed the deal. The first campaign is likely to break in the first week of August.
The Truecaller app is a pioneer in all identification and call block. It allows users to know who is calling them even if the person has not been listed in their contacts. There are over 150 million people using this app globally, with India leading the way with over 80 million users.
Contract said it won the creative and brand marketing mandate following a series of strategy meetings with Truecaller India team and its co-founder and chief strategic officer Nami Zarringhalam. “The opportunity to ideate and plan for Truecaller’s brand campaign reinvigorated our passion for this segment,” said Rana Barua, chief executive at Contract India.
