Chennai: Colors Tamil, the fastest-growing GEC of Tamil Nadu is set to bring the World Television Premieres of Fighter and Appathava Aattaya Pottutanga on 11 AM and 7 PM on Sunday, January 30th 2022.
Set in the backdrop of the Sino-Japanese war, Fighter, dubbed into Tamil, gives an insight into the life of legendary Ip Man, a grandmaster of the martial art Wing Chun, more famous as the teacher of Bruce Lee. The film is directed by Wilson Yip and action choreographed by Sammo Hung. It features Actor Donnie Yen as Ip Man and has Simon Yam, Lynn Hung, Lam Ka-tung, Xing Yu, Hiroyuki Ikeuchi and Tenma Shibuya as supporting cast.
When his city is captured during the Japanese invasion of China, a wealthy martial artist is forced to flee his house. Ip Man and the remaining citizens of the city must find a way to survive despite their lack of resources. Nominated for 12 Hong Kong Film Awards, the movie won in the Best Film and the Best Action Choreography categories.
After the high of Fighter, the channel will air Appathava Aattaya Pottutanga at 7 PM. Directed by Stephen Rangaraj, the movie will take you on an emotional journey and will fill your heart with warmth.
Starring Chandrahasan and Sheela in the lead roles, Appathava Aattaya Pottutanga narrates the tale of two elderly people falling in love at an old-age home. When they start enjoying each other’s company, an endearing romance blooms and they eventually decide to elope and tie the knot, leading to a hilarious turn of events.
The film marks the debut of actor Kamal Hassan’s elder brother Chandrahasan in lead and has senior actors like Kathadi Ramamurthy and Shanmugasundaram in important roles.
