Thanjavur: Aimed at celebrating the unsung heroes of Thanjavur, Tamil GEC Colors Tamil honoured Ms. Sheeba , a self defence trainer in its flagship initiative Mangaiyar Thiruvizha 2022; for her relentless service to the society that brought changes in the lives of many. Hosted at Bharath College of Science and Management , the event witnessed Dr Anjugam Boopathy, Deputy Mayor of Thanjavur and Tmt. R. Brindha, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Vallam, gracing the occasion as the chief guests, felicitating her.
Mangaiyar Thiruvizha 2022 is a flagship initiative of the channel that aims to identify and appreciate women from various parts of TamilNadu who have worked towards the community and strived to make a name for themselves in society.
The event commenced with a motivational speech by P Prasanna (Educationist and Motivational Speaker), inspiring women to follow their dreams and explore their inner self. Followed by a Zumba session focusing on a healthy lifestyle. The event further saw Dr Manimalar, Gynecologist & Art Consultant throwing light on bodily hygiene and its importance, which is the most relevant issue to be looked upon but rather goes unnoticed, whilst also addressing queries from the audience.
The one-day event celebrated the strength of womanhood with an array of entertainment programmes ranging from dance, singing, and henna art, among many others.
The event concluded with women achievers of Thanjavur being recognized for their service to society with a prestigious award, winner announcements for the various activities that took place during the day and a crowd dance.
Commenting on the occasion, Dr Anjugam Boopathy, Deputy Mayor of Thanjavur, said, “I am honoured to be a part of such a significant occasion like Mangaiyar Thiruvizha that identifies the unsung heroes from various parts of the state. I congratulate Ms. Sheeba on being awarded for her selfless service to the society. It is indeed inspiring to see women taking charge and learning aspects of self defence. It is important for women to realise their worth and discover their abilities, especially in these changing times where both men and women have a myriad of opportunities to prove themselves. I would further like to appreciate Colors Tamil, for encouraging women to come forward and reach greater heights.”
