The Collective Newsroom (CNR) has appointed Amit Jain as the Chair of its Board of Directors.
Jain, a cross-industry veteran, heads the new CNR board, launched in April 2024 as an independent Indian media company. CNR exclusively produces and publishes content for BBC News in India across six Indian languages and English YouTube.
Jain’s extensive global corporate background, particularly in the Indian, Asian, and European markets, is complemented by diverse leadership roles in sectors such as consumer goods, media, and communication, showcasing his transformational leadership.
Jain, as the first Indian Managing Director at L’Oreal India, led digital strategy integration, expanding into luxury and cosmeceuticals. Since 2023, he has shifted to non-executive roles, including serving as Chairman at Sanofi CHC India.’
During his stint with Viacom where he was heading the business in Asia, Jain co-created the Viacom 18 joint venture which launched theColors Television channel in India. He also has more than a decade of experience with Coca-Cola, where he led their businesses across India and Asia.
