New Delhi: Indian-born author, Top Chef Host and model, Emmy-nominated Padma Lakshmi is a woman of many talents. From her childhood in India to feminism and the Trump Presidency, she speaks to Anuradha SenGupta about various topics this week on Off Centre.
Talking about her childhood in India she said that she was very heavily influenced by her grandfather and did not share any real relationship with her father. Also commenting on the US President Donald Trump, she said, “Appalled at the fact that somebody so publically against any kind of respect for women is in our highest office. When you subjugate women in a population, you subjugate the population.”
In a candid conversation, Lakshmi spoke about not only her marriage to Salman Rushdie but also about her battle with chronic illness endometriosis and her life’s work to educate people about it.
